After the summer crowds are long gone, the unmatched beauty of Ladakh’s landscapes surfaces; wandering through the high-altitude desert for all its bucket list highlights in the off season is a great choice. This trip blends the wilderness of Ladakh with a taste of trekking, and allows you to have a more private interaction with the trans Himalaya.

ITINERARY
Day 01
Arrive in Leh , where crisp winter air and high altitude welcome you. Spend the day resting and acclimatizing to the altitude to avoid AMS (acute mountain sickness) and the low temperatures. Overnight stay in a well-insulated guesthouse in Leh.
Day 02
After a relaxed breakfast, head out to explore some of Leh’s key cultural landmarks including Thiksey Monastery and Shey Palace. This light sightseeing helps with acclimatisation and gives an insight into Ladakhi Buddhist heritage. Rest and prepare for the next day.
Day 03
Drive to the village of Rumbak, the starting point of your trek. This journey takes you through changing landscapes, gradually transitioning from the high desert to the greener valleys of the Hemis National Park. Rumbak is a picturesque village nestled in a beautiful valley, offering stunning views and a chance to spot local wildlife like blue sheep or marmots.
Day 04
This is a challenging day when you will trek to Chortanchan and begin an early ascent to cross the Stok La Pass at 4,850 metres. The trail is steep and demanding, but the reward is a truly spectacular panoramic view from the top, including the towering Stok Kangri peak and the surrounding Himalayan range. After a well-deserved rest at the pass, you'll begin your descent on the other side, going from a moderate zig-zag climb to a long steep descent. The trail winds down through a beautiful landscape, with views of the Stok range. You’ll set up camp on the other side of the pass, enjoying the solitude of the high mountains.
Day 05
Today we trek to Stok village where you enjoy the comforts of your cosy homestay, and spend the evening exploring and walking around this quaint village with a hilltop monastery.
Day 06
Begin your journey towards Nubra Valley via Khardung La, one of the world's highest motorable passes. The journey offers breathtaking views of rugged mountains and deep gorges. After a thrilling drive, you'll arrive in Nubra valley, known as the "Valley of Flowers." Your first stop will be the Diskit monastery, home to a massive statue of Maitreya Buddha. Afterwards, head to Hunder to possibly see the double-humped Bactrian camel.
Day 07
Start your drive after an early breakfast to the stunning Pangong Tso , arriving at the shores of the lake and break for lunch at any of the restaurants there, and walk around to see its famous, ever-changing colours. After that, check into your accommodation, and spend the evening stargazing with the night sky reflected on one of the highest brackish water lakes in the world.
Day 08
After a peaceful morning by Pangong Lake, drive back to Leh and visit Shanti Stupa in the evening.
Day 09
Walk around old Leh, visit the Central Asian Museum, indulge in some cafe hopping and do some souvenir shopping on your last day here. Overnight in Leh.
Day 10
Breakfast and departure.
