Starting in the vibrant capital of Kathmandu, you will travel through the ancient hill station of Nuwakot and the preserved Newari charm of Bandipur, experiencing the country’s rich heritage and stunning rural landscapes.

ITINERARY

Day 01

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be transferred to your accommodation. After settling in, enjoy a walking tour of Kathmandu Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage site filled with ancient palaces, courtyards, and temples. The evening features a welcome dinner where you will receive a full briefing on the journey ahead.

Day 02

The morning is dedicated to exploring two of Nepal’s most sacred sites: the Hindu temple of Pashupatinath and the massive Buddhist stupa of Boudhanath. After lunch, you will begin the scenic drive to Nuwakot via Gurje Bhanjyang, leaving the valley behind for the rolling hills. You will spend the evening relaxing at a local farm, a restored manor with stunning rural views.

Day 03

Your day begins with an early 12 km drive to Chokate. From here, you will hike to the hilltop of Suryagadi to witness a spectacular sunrise over the Himalayas. After hiking back to Chokate and returning to the farm for lunch, the afternoon is spent exploring the historic Nuwakot Durbar and its surrounding temples, which once served as a crucial gateway to the Kathmandu valley.

Day 04

After breakfast, you drive to Galaudi, the starting point for your river adventure. Following a safety briefing, you will begin rafting the Trishuli River. The day is a mix of exciting Grade II/III rapids and calm stretches where you can enjoy the riverside scenery. You will pull over at a scenic riverside beach for a BBQ dinner and an overnight stay in high-quality tents under the stars.

Day 05

The morning continues on the river with another 2–3 hours of rafting through "Upset" and "Surprise" rapids. After bidding farewell to the river crew, you will drive toward the hilltop settlement of Bandipur, a preserved Newari village. After lunch and an exploration of its cobblestone streets and 18th-century architecture, you will continue to a nearby mountain lodge for the night.

Day 06

Today features a drive to Labdi village, the starting point for a hike to Chhimkeshwori. This is the highest point in the Tanahun district, offering a 360-degree view of peaks like Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, and Manaslu. After visiting the local temple and exploring Labdi village, you return to the lodge for lunch. The late afternoon includes a gentle walk through the quiet village of Ghamalchap.

Day 07

Following breakfast, you have the option for a final short morning hike to soak in the mountain views. You then begin the drive back to Kathmandu, winding along the Prithvi Highway. Once back in the city, the rest of the day is yours for last-minute shopping or resting before a farewell dinner at a local restaurant to celebrate the completion of your trip.

  • Accommodation: Hotels in Kathmandu, and comfortable lodges and guesthouses in other places on double occupancy.
  • Meals: All three meals including picnic lunches on trails, except Kathmandu where breakfast and dinner is included.
