The Har-Ki-Dun trek is a legendary cradle-shaped valley in thFe Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand, offering an enchanting journey steeped in ancient mythology and breathtaking natural beauty. This 6-day trek begins in Dehradun and leads you deep into the Govind Wildlife Sanctuary. Walking past ancient wooden villages like Osla and hiking alongside the gushing Supin River, you will ascend to a high-altitude alpine valley surrounded by the towering snow-capped peaks of the Swargarohini range. It is a rare path where wilderness, raw nature, and local folklore blend seamlessly.

ITINERARY
Day 1
Upon arriving in Dehradun early in the morning, you will board a vehicle for a highly scenic drive through the Yamuna and Tons valleys. You'll pass through the famous hill station of Mussoorie and several quaint riverside settlements before entering the Govind Wildlife Sanctuary. By evening, you will reach the picturesque base camp village of Sankri, check into your accommodation, and gather for an evening briefing session and equipment check with your trek leader.
Day 2
After an early breakfast, we take a short, rugged drive to the trail starting point in Taluka. From here, you begin your trek on foot, entering a dense forest of chestnut, willow, and chinars. The trail follows the beautiful, fast-flowing Supin River with mostly gradual ascents. By late afternoon, you will reach Seema campsite—a lush clearing near the riverside—to set up camp for the night.
Day 3
Today’s trek leads you deeper into the ancient heart of the valley. As you climb, you will cross a suspension bridge and pass the culturally rich village of Osla, famous for its ancient wooden architecture and legends linked to the Mahabharata. Beyond the village, the trail opens up into vast, sweeping alpine meadows decorated with wild orchids. You will set up camp in the gorgeous amphitheater of Har-Ki-Dun, surrounded by the majestic, snow-capped Swargarohini peaks.
Day 4
An spectacular morning awaits you in the valley. You can spend the first half of the day exploring the dramatic Har-Ki-Dun plateau, capturing photographs of the massive glaciers, or taking a short walk to the pristine Morinda Tal lake. After soaking in the panoramic vistas of Hata Peak and Black Peak, you will pack up and begin your easy descent back down to the campsite near Seema.
Day 5
After breakfast, you will retrace your steps along the Supin River. The downhill walk back to Taluka is swift and highly relaxing, offering a fresh perspective on the beautiful forest canopy. At Taluka, your vehicle will be waiting to drive you back to Sankri. Spend your final evening in the mountains relaxing at the guest house or exploring the local market to buy local organic honey and hand-knitted woolen goods.
Day 6
Your Himalayan adventure concludes today. After breakfast, you will check out and embark on the return drive back to Dehradun, aiming to arrive by early evening in time for your onward journeys.
Inclusions and Exclusions
- Transport: Airport pick-up and drop . Transport for sightseeing as per program and for trekking point drop and pickup in comfortable vehicle.
- Accommodation: Hotel on double occupancy, and alpine tents/ campsite on trekking trails.
- Meals: All meals on the trek (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) and breakfast and dinner for the remaining itinerary
- Permits & Fees: Trek permit and other local permits.
- Staff: English-speaking tour leader, experienced local mountain guides and camping staff.
- Offloading: Porter and mule charges for ferrying all luggage except personal day pack.
- Insurance: Mandatory travel insurance.
- Personal Gear: Personal equipment (thermal wear, hiking poles, etc).
- Meals: Any meals not mentioned in the program.
- Beverages: Any drinks including soft drinks, bottled water, or alcoholic beverages.
- Extra Tours: Any activities outside the planned itinerary.
- Tips: Gratuities for guides, drivers, and hotel staff.
- Taxes: All applicable taxes and transactional fees.
- Contingency Fee: Any additional expenses arising due to unforeseen circumstances such as bad weather, road blocks or unrest, that result in an extension or change in the program, or emergency evacuation for medical reasons.
