ITINERARY
Day 01
Begin your journey with a scenic drive from Dehradun, winding through the picturesque Garhwal region to the charming Sari village. Settle into your guesthouse upon arrival, taking a gentle stroll through the village to acclimatise and absorb the tranquil mountain atmosphere. Spend the remainder of the day soaking in the place, engaging with the villagers or simply enjoying the surroundings.
Day 02
After a leisurely breakfast, embark on your trek, a gradual incline through a captivating rhododendron and oak forest leading to the pristine Deoriatal lake. Arrive at this breathtaking spot, where on clear days, the magnificent Chaukhamba reflects in the water. Spend your time by the lakeside enjoying its tranquil beauty, or walk around its perimeter.
Day 03
Leaving the serene Deoriatal, today's trek takes you through an ancient, dense forest, an experience of profound natural immersion. This section involves ascents and descents as you make your way to the sprawling, beautiful meadows of Rohini. Here, you'll be greeted by expansive views of the Kedarnath and Chaukhamba ranges, offering a peaceful setting for your overnight stay.
Day 04
Continue your journey from Rohini, trekking towards Chopta, known for its stunning alpine meadows. The trail gradually emerges from the forest, opening up to panoramic vistas of the majestic Himalayan peaks that seem to stretch endlessly across the horizon. Upon reaching Chopta, settle into your accommodation and spend time preparing for the exciting summit climb ahead.
Day 05
An early start sees you begin the much-anticipated ascent. The trek leads you first to Tungnath, the highest Shiva temple in the world, where you can soak in the spiritual ambience amidst incredible mountain views. From Tungnath, a final, steeper climb takes you to the Chandrashila summit. From this vantage point, marvel at the breathtaking 360-degree panoramic views of towering peaks including Nanda Devi, Trishul, and Chaukhamba. After savoring the unparalleled vistas, begin your descent back to Chopta, celebrating the accomplishment of reaching the summit.
Day 06
After a relaxed breakfast, begin your return journey from Chopta to catch your return flight/train from Dehradun.
