ITINERARY

Day 01

Embark on a scenic mountain drive from Dehradun, winding through the heart of the Garhwal Himalayas. The journey follows the sparkling Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers, passing through the holy river confluences of Devprayag and Rudraprayag. As you climb toward Sari village, the air turns fresh and crisp, and you'll be greeted by lush green terraced fields. This evening is perfect for a gentle introduction to mountain life with a cozy stay in a local homestay, offering a warm and safe environment for both mother and child.

220 km; 8-9 hours drive        Max altitude: 1997 Meters

Day 02

After a relaxed breakfast, begin a gentle 3 km trek to the magical waters of Deoriatal. The trail is well-defined and winds through beautiful oak and rhododendron forests, making it a manageable and fun hike for children. Upon reaching the lake, the massive Chaukhamba peaks appear as if by magic, reflecting perfectly in the still water. The afternoon is spent enjoying a lakeside picnic, spotting colorful butterflies, and soaking in the tranquil scenery of this "Lake of the Gods."

3 km; 3.5 hours        Max altitude: 2390 Meters

Day 03

Wake up early to witness the mountains turn golden with the sunrise—a memory you and your child will cherish forever. After a morning of lakeside exploration and photography, you will begin the easy downhill walk back to Sari village. The descent is light and offers plenty of chances to pause and look for mountain birds. Back in the village, the afternoon is free to explore the traditional stone houses or relax by the fields, giving your child a unique glimpse into the charming ‘pahadi’ way of life.

3 km; 2 hours        Max altitude: 2390 Meters

Day 04

On your final morning, enjoy a traditional breakfast before starting the return drive to Dehradun. The descent offers a final chance to admire the deep river valleys and colorful mountain towns from your window, leaving you and your child with beautiful memories of high-altitude lakes and forest trails.
